At this stage in your training, you may be considering what else you can do to better prepare yourself for the swim section of your next triathlon.
Unlike the other two disciplines, swimming is less about building up power and speed to increase your distance, but more about technique. Without the proper technique you will never achieve the pace or distance ability you are aiming for and may in fact end up causing yourself more harm than good.
With swimming, it’s very easy to pick up bad habits and not even be aware of them.
This is where we come in…
We offer Stroke Analysis in our Endless Pool, situated in Aylesford. During the session we film your stroke using underwater cameras from the front, side and overhead and then instantly play back your swimming to you while you are still in the water. We then highlight areas that need correction or development and suggest drills to effect the appropriate change.
You can try these changes out immediately and see the effect that the drill or change in movement has on your swim stroke. Seeing how you are swimming and feeling the movement as you improve your stroke is a really effective way for adults (we don’t believe it until we see it!) to learn.
We also provide a CD with clips of your swimming to take away with you.
The keys to improving your swim stroke are patience and the willingness to learn technique. We believe that our Stroke Analysis Clinic is the ideal way to set the wheels in motion to improve your swimming technique, regardless of your current swimming ability.
We have put together an exclusive day of DISCOUNTED sessions, just for you, the Masters members.
