Some strong race results from our Masters Athletes too:-

Nic Walton competed in the Gauntlet at Hever Castle, in breezy and sometimes gusty conditions on the bike plus drizzle turning to brief periods of heavier rain resulting in wet roads.  Overall time of 5:09:00 – 5th overall, 4th in gender and 4th in age group, so a really strong result.

John Gilbertson took part in the Ripon Olympic Triathlon, more stormy and windy conditions.  Overall time 2:38:06 and 39th AG position.

Kate Slee competed in the sprint distance at Leeds Castle Triathlon England Championships, bringing home 5th place AG position, with a time of 1:34:24.

Sian Robinson came in 8th AG position at Chichester Sprint Triathalon, posting a time of 2:07:11.  She also completed Diamond Tri Eton Dorney Sprint Distance in 1:42:49, getting 3rd place AG position.

Sonke Armbrust at ITU Hamburg 2016 completed the course in 02:30:39, on a day that started wet but cleared up towards the run.

Victoria Stears despite not feeling particularly well going into the race and on the run really struggling with foot pain, completed the Oysterman Triathlon in 1:59:27.

Tom Frearson took part in the Owler Tri (70.3) and heroically managed 2nd place AG position with a time of 5:01:19, only missing out on 1st place by a minute.  In his race report Tom told us that the swim was very poor with so much weed in the lake.  He got stuck numerous times and had to fight the weeds to get out. This was the same for everyone but made him lose the lead and finish 6th out the water.  Bike was strong and he was happy with the result, averaging 33kmph.  The run was very hot and he felt it all went wrong, fully cramped 1.5km in and had 5 minutes rolling around on the floor, both quads and hamstrings.  He dropped back to about 15th place and then managed to overtake 7 people when he could move again but still not at his usual pace as that caused cramps again.
