Why do this drill?
Shoulder touch drill is used to develop a relaxed recovery phase, with the elbow comfortably high and the fingers and wrist below the elbow. It is a useful drill to correct an unbalancing wide and swinging recovery.
How to do this drill
During the recovery phase of your stroke, as your hand and wrist are level with your shoulder, touch the top of your shoulder with your fingertips. Then continue with the stroke, putting your fingertips into the water 20-30 cm in front of your head and in line with your shoulders.
