thetrilife.com is proud to be the coaching partner of Challenge Weymouth and the Weymoiuth Half and to be able to support their athletes through our training programs and training events. Olympic coach Bill Black will be leading the team in designing training programs to prepare you for these inaugural races – each plan being specific to your race course.

All of our training programs are delivered via Training Peaks software. You will get:

  • fully structured and effective sessions in all disciplines
  • progressive overload and recovery periods to develop fitness, strength and speed
  • email support from a coach at thetrilife.com
  • a course – specific training program
  • a well-planned taper
  • reassurance that you are doing the right training at the right time
  • a comprehensive online training diary to track your progress
  • thetrilife.com coaches available for last minute advice and reassurance over race weekend

You may choose between a “6 sessions per week” or” 9 sessions per week” program. The “6 sessions per week” will be great for the first time long distance athlete or an athlete with limited time looking to make the most of their training. The “9 sessions per week” is aimed at athletes with more time available or for an athlete looking to make significant performance gains. How long? 9 months (24 weeks)
Start date? 6th January 2014
Who for? The 6 sessions a week option has been designed for someone with 7 to 13 hours a week to train. The 9 sessions a week option is designed for an athlete with 8 to 16 hours a week to train. It is assumed that you have been doing some activity in the last 8 weeks. Cost? Online version £360 (£10 per week)

Who for? The 6 sessions a week option has been designed for someone with 7 to 13 hours a week to train. The 9 sessions a week option is designed for an athlete with 8 to 16 hours a week to train. It is assumed that you have been training over the last 2 months and can run 90 mins and ride 3 hours comfortably. Cost? Online version £145 (£12 per week)

Weymouth Half 2014

Who for? The 6 sessions a week option has been designed for someone with 4 to 10 hours a week to train. The 9 sessions a week option is designed for an athlete with 5 to 13 hours a week to train. It is assumed that you have been doing some activity in the last 8 weeks and can run up to 25-30 min, swim a session of 1000 m and cycle for 90 mins. Cost? Online version £265
